Subrox: The ground source heat pump that provides reliable heating and requires little space.
The Subrox draws the heat for your home from the ground. It is available in three output sizes up to 18 kW. It is suitable for the renovation of an existing building, replacing an old heating system, and for new buildings. Passive cooling can be retrofitted if required*.
*with an external cooling module. Cooling integrated directly into the unit is available with the Subrox C.
The benefits at a glance
- Three sizes for a heating load from 6 to 18 kW
- Requires just 60 × 62 cm of floor space at a height of 1.50 m
- Energy efficiency class A+++ (scale A+++ to D) at 35 °C and 55 °C, even with radiators
- Quiet operation inside the house, no unit in the garden
- Natural R290 refrigerant with safety concept
- Use solar power and control via app
- Passive cooling can be retrofitted with an external cooling module

Reliable warmth. With a ground source heat pump that is already thinking about tomorrow today.
A heating system should run reliably and require little attention. The Subrox uses heat from the ground for this. Just a few metres below the surface, the ground maintains almost the same temperature all year round, even in frosty conditions. The Subrox is installed inside the house. Nothing can be seen or heard outside.
Plenty of heat in a small space.
The Subrox has a footprint of 60 × 62 cm and is 1.50 m high. This means it also fits into small utility rooms or a niche in the basement. Despite its compact size, it delivers up to 18 kW of heating output*. A separate hot water tank is used for domestic hot water, and the diverter valve is already integrated. If you prefer the tank to be integrated directly into the unit, the Subrox D with hot water tank is the right choice.

Plenty of heat from little electricity. Even in existing buildings.
From 1 kWh of electricity, the Subrox generates an annual average of around 5 kWh of heat, and around 4 kWh with radiators*. At both 35 °C and 55 °C flow temperature, it achieves energy efficiency class A+++ for space heating. Existing radiators can therefore remain in place in many cases.
*SCOP at 35 °C / 55 °C flow temperature:
- Subrox 8: 5.72 / 4.31
- Subrox 13: 5.45 / 4.21
- Subrox 18: 5.3 / 4.2

Safe inside the house.
The Subrox is filled with the natural R290 refrigerant (propane). For installation inside the house, it features its own safety concept. A refrigerant sensor continuously monitors the unit. Once a day, an automatic function test checks the safety technology.

Easy to control. Also with your own solar power.
The Subrox automatically adapts its heating output to demand. The temperature can be adjusted on the touch display, in the myUplink app or via voice control using Alexa and Google Home, even when you are away.
- Use solar power: With a PV system, the Subrox preferably heats using your own solar power.
- Use low-cost hours: With a dynamic electricity tariff, it runs when electricity costs less.
- Heat according to the weather forecast: The control system adjusts in advance for colder days.

Cooling and hot water directly in the unit
Pleasantly cool rooms in summer are also possible with the Subrox. Passive cooling via the ground can be retrofitted using an external cooling module.
If you prefer cooling or a hot water tank to be integrated directly into the unit, you can choose from these variants:

Which Subrox is right for you?
The Subrox 8–18 is available in three sizes. Your specialist installer calculates the building’s heating load. The appropriate size is based on this.
Output size | Recommended for a heating load of |
|---|---|
Subrox 8 | 6 bis 8 kW |
Subrox 13 | 8 bis 13 kW |
Subrox 18 | 13 bis 18 kW |
