Subrox D C: The ground source heat pump for heating, cooling and hot water in one unit.
In winter, the Subrox D C heats using energy from the ground. In summer, it uses the lower temperatures in the ground to keep rooms pleasantly cool. Passive cooling and a 178-litre hot water tank are integrated directly into the unit. The Subrox D C is available in output sizes of 8 and 13 kW. It is suitable for the renovation of an existing building, replacing an old heating system, and for new buildings.
The benefits at a glance
- Heating, cooling and hot water from one unit
- Passive cooling and 178-litre hot water tank integrated into the unit
- Two sizes for a heating load from 6 to 13 kW
- Requires just 60 × 62 cm of floor space at a height of 1.85 m
- Energy efficiency class A+++ (scale A+++ to D) at 35 °C and 55 °C, even with radiators
- Quiet operation inside the house, no unit in the garden
- Natural R290 refrigerant with safety concept

Warm in winter, pleasantly cool in summer. With energy from the ground.
Just a few metres below the surface, the ground maintains almost the same temperature all year round. In winter, it is warmer than the air; in summer, it is cooler. The Subrox D C makes use of this difference. Because it is installed inside the house, there is nothing to see or hear outside.
Pleasantly cool. With little electricity.
In summer, the ground is cooler than the air. The Subrox D C uses these lower temperatures to cool your rooms and transfers the heat from the rooms into the ground. The compressor remains switched off, and only the circulation pumps require electricity. This means cooling uses little energy. The cooling capacity is up to 11.9 kW*. Cooling is provided via a surface heating system, such as underfloor, wall or ceiling heating. To prevent condensation from forming on floors and pipes, the RMU+ room control unit from the accessories range also measures the humidity.
*Cooling capacity at B10/W18:
- Subrox 8 D178 C: 9.8 kW
- Subrox 13 D178 C: 11.9 kW

Also suitable for existing buildings. With A+++ at 55 °C.
From 1 kWh of electricity, the Subrox D C generates around 5 kWh of heat, and around 4 kWh with radiators*. For space heating, it achieves energy efficiency class A+++, at both 35 °C and 55 °C flow temperature. In many existing buildings, the existing radiators can therefore continue to be used.
*Seasonal Coefficient of Performance (SCOP), determined under standard conditions, at 35 °C / 55 °C flow temperature:
Subrox 8 D178 C: 5.72 / 4.31
Subrox 13 D178 C: 5.45 / 4.21
In your own building, the value depends, among other things, on the heat source, the heating surfaces and how the system is used.

Safe inside the house.
The Subrox D C uses the natural R290 refrigerant (propane). For safe indoor installation, it features a safety concept: A sensor monitors the unit around the clock, and an automatic test checks the safety technology every day.

Easy to control. Also with your own solar power.
The Subrox D C automatically adapts its heating output to demand. The temperature can be adjusted on the touch display, in the myUplink app or via voice control using Alexa and Google Home, even when you are away.
- Use solar power: With a PV system, the Subrox D C preferably heats using your own solar power.
- Use low-cost hours: With a dynamic electricity tariff, it preferably heats at times when electricity is cheaper.
- Heat according to the weather forecast: The control system adjusts in advance for colder days.

Other Subrox variants
For buildings with a higher heating load, the Subrox is also available with 18 kW heating output. If you do not need cooling, choose the Subrox D with hot water tank. If you want to use a separate hot water tank, choose the Subrox C with cooling.

Which Subrox is right for you?
The Subrox D C is available in two sizes. Your specialist installer calculates the building’s heating load. The appropriate size is based on this.
Output size | Recommended for a heating load of |
|---|---|
Subrox 8 D178 C | 6 bis 8 kW |
Subrox 13 D178 C | 8 bis 13 kW |
